INTRODUCTION
Its 2016 and we kick off plans for the Second Edition of the Lagos
State Students Fashion Week.
As we have continue to reiterate that the LAGOS STATE STUDENTS FASHION
WEEK is geared towards the celebration, empowerment and development of
Undergraduate fashion designers and models in Tertiary Institutions in
Lagos State. There has been a tremendous increase interest in the ART
OF FASHION by young and vibrant youths in Nigeria, and LSSFW provides
the platform for them to showcase and express their talents and
creativity before youths/students in Lagos state, the general public
and international community.
And this was well emphasized with the Successful outcome of its Maiden
edition last year. The First Edition was held on October 23rd, 2015 at
the Indoor Sports Hall, Lagos State University (LASU). A creative
student of the Lagos State University, Modupe Ajose of AODOOT
Collections emerged as the Most Creative Students Fashion Designer in
Lagos State, the event had in attendance top goevernment officials,
top fashion designers, fashion conscious celebrities, major corporate
brands in Nigeria, staff of various tertiary institutions present,
media houses and over 500 of students from University of Lagos
(UNILAG), Lagos State University (LASU), Lagos State Polytechnic
(LASPOTECH), Federal College of Technology, Akoka (FCE) and Yaba
College of Technology (YABATECH).
The Second Edition is prepared to have more glitz and glamour as we
have created more relationships to help provide developmental and
mentorship projects for the Student Fashion Designers.
HOST
The Lagos State Students Fashion Week is hosted across various
tertiary institutions in Lagos State. The reason for the rotation of
host for the fashion week is to afford the entire student body of each
tertiary institution the opportunity to experience the razz matazz of
the fashion week on their campus.
The last edition was hosted by the Lagos State University (LASU) in 2015.
The Host for the 2016 Edition and Event Itinery would be Unveiled on
the 1st of February 2016.
FASHION DESIGNERS
At the Lagos State Students Fashion Week we have 2 sets of Fashion Designers;
- Student Fashion Designer (Undergradute/Graduate Student, Student of
a Fashion School/Academy).
- Professional Fashion Designer.
The student fashion designers would be afforded an opportunity to
showcase their designs to the general public and audience. And an
AWARD would be given to the MOST CREATIVE STUDENT FASHION DESIGNER.
While the Professional designers would act as Mentors to the student
fashion designers.

MODELS
Student models are also used during the Lagos State Students Fashion
Week alongside top models in Nigeria. This is to afford them the
opportunity to gain not just experience but also training as they
would be trained for ONE WEEK for FREE by THE MODELING ACADEMY NIGERIA
(www.themodelingacademy.org).
Model call would be scheduled in March, 2016.
PARTNERSHIP
As a growing brand in the fashion industry, our aim is to be the most
anticipated fashion event in Lagos State tertiary institutions, and to
achieve that we would need the support of individuals, personalities
and brands who would want to help in the empowerment and development
of youths in Lagos State.

We want to appreciate the Lagos State Government, Brand Partners,
